It is with great remorse that I inform you about the tragic loss of one
of our wrestling family members. It seems that Dustin Chism passed away
on Wednesday night. Please keep Dustin and his family in your prayers
as they deal with the loss of such a wonderful young man.
In the
short time that I knew Dustin, I thought he was a great young man with
a lot of determination. He was strong willed and had a great heart.
While this was only his first year wrestling, and he had not yet caught
on to the sport, but yet he still came to most every practice and went
out every match and tried his hardest no matter what. I can remember
telling him things he needed to work on and then I would see him take
my comments in and work on those things in practice.
Dustin was
tough as nails. He was especially proud of his muscular physique. He
would walk around with his arms out to his side and his chest puffed.
On the mat he would walk out there and stare down his opponent, then
after the whistle blew, he would never shoot, but he liked to smack his
opponent's head. Repeatedly. It was a sight to see. It was his style
and his style will be sorely missed.
I encourage each wrestler and
their family's to say a prayer in his honor and keep him in your
hearts. I will post information on his funeral when it comes available.
I encourage those who knew him and wrestled with him to attend his
showing if possible.
